Scholarship Program
A joint project of Guatemala Friends Meeting and Redwood Forest Friends Meeting. The Program was founded in 1973. Over the decades the program has grown from supporting one student in 1973 to supporting more than 100 university and secondary school students. We receive financial support from a small number of Quaker meetings and a large number of Quaker and non-Quaker friends. Help us to support education in Guatemala! Click here to learn more >>

ESL Work and
Cultural Tours
These tours give participants a chance to experience Guatemala at a deeper level than is possible for most tourists. In February 2002, we conducted our first tour of the Guatemala Highlands, which was a great success. In 2009, PROGRESA implemented a new way for visitors to connect with our students. We call it the "Teaching English Work Tour." These “tours” are held in colonial Antigua at the Belen Convent. Click here to learn more >>
Guatemala Friends
Guatemala Friends Meeting is a small un-programed group. We meet for worship in Friends’ homes on the second Sunday of the month (most often in Antigua or Guatemala City). Meeting starts at 11 am although we try to arrive earlier so there is time to talk before we move into silence. After the meeting we share a pot luck lunch. We welcome visitors both Quaker and non-Quaker. Call ahead to find out when and where we are meeting. Click here to learn more >>
